It was announced a couple months ago that Cannibal Corpse and Between the Buried and Me would be headlining the 6th annual Summer Slaughter Tour, and now the dates for the 2012 trek have been released.

Kicking off July 20 in Los Angeles, Summer Slaughter Tour will wind its way across the United States, make a couple stops in Canada, and wrap up back in Anaheim, Calif., on August 25. The other bands in this year's lineup include the Faceless, Periphery, Veil of Maya, Job for a Cowboy, Goatwhore, Exhumed and Cerebral Bore. Special guests (with more to be announced) in each city will include bands such as the Contortionist, Rings of Saturn and Fallujah.

Ash Avildsen, the founder of Summer Slaughter, is excited about this year's tour. “Without a doubt, this is the biggest year in the history of the tour. We are honored to have such an incredible, diverse group of musicians all on the same bill. It’s brutal, classic, progressive, fresh and still the most extreme tour of the year. Drink lots of water before you show up and get ready to rage!”

General admission tickets for Summer Slaughter go on sale Friday, April 27. The tour's Facebook page has all the details.
