It never fails. When watching TV, you get up during the commercial break only to come scrambling back when you hear the familiar sounds of one of rock's greatest songs. Rock and metal songs have been used time and time again in advertisements and now Applebee's has launched a series of spots featuring AC/DC's classic "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution."

The gentle strumming of the lightly distorted guitar from the timeless hit lies in the background of the Applebee's commercial for their new wood fired grill. In the three ads, the chain restaurant highlights steaks for their new grill, which introduces unique flavors to the cut of beef utilizing split American oak wood. The chain also brags about their "trained meat cutters slicing every steak by hand." "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" picks up the intensity when the "Wood Fire Grill" text flashes across the screen.

The track comes off the legendary Back in Black album, which featured the debut of Brian Johnson replacing the late Bon Scott up front. Johnson has recently been sidelined, at risk of total hearing loss if he continues to perform with AC/DC onstage. After initially postponing the remaining dates of their 'Rock or Bust' tour, the rock titans re-emerged with Axl Rose standing in Johnson's place for the time being.

In recent months, both Metallica and Pantera were featured in commercials. A new line of Dodge cars used Metallica's "Fuel" in their ads and Pantera's "I'm Broken" was featured in a commercial for a new menu item. After announcing they had brought Slash and Duff McKagan back into the fold, Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" was used in a Super Bowl spot for Taco Bell.
