In the wake of the tragic bombings at the Boston Marathon on April 15, the local community has sprung into action, raising funds for those impacted by the devastation. Now, several bands with ties to the bay state are stepping up to participate in the ‘Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration’ benefit show on May 30 at the TD Garden, with net ticket proceeds donated to The One Fund Boston.

Representing the rock contingent, Boston’s original bad boys Aerosmith are leading the charge along with Godsmack. Among the other acts proving a strong showing for the rock genre are Extreme, J. Geils Band and classic rockers Boston.

It’s not all rock though, country artist Jason Aldean and pop band New Kids on the Block, will join Jimmy Buffett and James Taylor in addition to comedians Dane Cook and Steven Wright, with a few more surprises still to come.

Live Nation New England promoter Don Law spoke about the special event, saying, “Boston is a city with strong roots, and homegrown artists reached out to us to see what could be done.  We are proud to help solidify this huge concert line-up.”

TD Garden President Amy Latimer weighed in as well, expressing, “This is an important community gathering to celebrate the amazing spirit of this city, Boston Strong,”

Although the lineup is already jam-packed, additional artists are still being added, so visit the official website for all the latest details.

Tickets for the historic event range from $35 to $285, but all for a good cause. Tickets will go on sale May 6 at 10AM EST at www.livenation.com.
