Massachusetts metalcore veterans All That Remains are readying the release of Madness, their eighth studio album since debuting with Behind Silence and Solitude in 2002. With the title track and "Safe House" already out representing the vast sonic spectrum found on the album, "Halo" has now been released, stylistically falling somewhere in the middle of the two previously released tracks.

Dominated by a bouncing energy, the song opens up with a spotlight guitar melody that sets the tone for the pace of "Halo." A break in the tempo comes during the refrain, which is set up wonderfully by a pre-chorus featuring harsh and clean vocal tradeoffs, employing a piano melody that matches the guitar intro.

"'Halo' is a cool song. It’s really about how you don’t need anyone’s approval for the way that you want to live your life," singer Phil Labonte told Revolver, who premiered the song. "You don’t need to have someone say, 'Okay, this is an acceptable way to organize your life' and so on. A lot of people get wrapped up in needing approval from others, so it’s about realizing you don’t need that and refusing to behave as if you do need it," he added.

The Madness will be released on April 28 through Razor and Tie and pre-orders can be placed at Amazon or digitally through iTunes. All That Remains will be supporting the record with a headlining tour stretching from April 29 through May 25 with a number of festival appearances peppered into the routing.
