Alter Bridge Plot January 2016 Studio Return for New Album
What better time than the first month of the year to get a fresh start on things? For Alter Bridge, there's now a timeline on how things will play out for their fifth studio album.
Speaking with the Metal Hammer Magazine Show, guitarist Mark Tremonti disclosed how he expects things to progress for the band's next disc. The guitarist has been quite vocal about his busy schedule, but for the first time he's laid out the plan for recording Alter Bridge's next release.
"We're gonna go in the studio in January, February and March to finish the fifth Alter Bridge album," stated the guitarist. "It takes three or four months to set up an album, so after we've recorded the Alter Bridge record, me and Myles [Kennedy] will go off and tour for four months doing Tremonti and Slash, then come back for a fall Alter Bridge fiesta."
While the studio time is still a few months away, Tremonti did offer, "[The new album] could go in any direction. I've got a ton of ideas in all different styles. Last time it was just one heavy idea after another and hopefully this time we can branch out and bring something new to the table."
Tremonti is currently promoting the Cauterize album from his self-titled band and is plotting a follow-up called Dust that's expected to arrive in the first half of 2016. While Scott Stapp has expressed a desire to reactivate Creed for a new album, Tremonti has revealed that his schedule will keep him busy through the better portion of 2016.
