Amity Affliction Sign With Roadrunner, Plot Fall 2011 U.S. Tour

Amity Affliction
Roadrunner Records

Australian-based metalcore outfit the Amity Affliction have inked a deal with Roadrunner Records and will digitally release their second studio album, ‘Youngbloods,’ through the label on Oct. 25. They will be backing the release with a fall 2011 tour that will see the band doing a lap around the United States.

“Ever since I can remember in Amity we’ve been dreaming big: big tours, big shows, big crowds, but never in our wildest dreams did we ever think something this big would come around,” frontman Joel Birch says. “Signing to Roadrunner worldwide is almost beyond a dream come true, because there’s no way any of us would have ever dreamed of being able to achieve something this monumental.”

Uniquely mixing hard-hitting hardcore and melodic rock with sing-scream vocals, the Amity Affliction are already big in their home country of Australia. They released ‘Youngbloods’ there in June 2010, and the disc debuted at No. 6 on the Albums Chart in Australia and nabbed nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance at both the Australian Record Industry Association Awards and Interactive Media Awards.

The Amity Affliction recorded ‘Youngbloods’ in New York and supported it with a slot on the Soundwave 2011 festival tour, along with a high-profile headlining Aussie trek and jaunts overseas. Their upcoming U.S. trek is slated to kick off Nov. 19 in San Antonio and wind down Dec. 16 in Portland. Dubbed the ‘No Guts, No Glory’ Tour, the trek also features Miss May I, Pierce The Veil, Woe, Is Me and Letlive.
