From the opening quote that scrolls across the screen, the mood is set for Asking Alexandria's "Here I Am" video. That quote comes from guitarist Ben Bruce, who inspires the viewer to express confidence in themselves and embrace who they are.

"In a world tainted by hate and negativity, stand out, shine bright and be proud of who you are," reads the Bruce quote, before the camera pulls back from a field and wooded area that contains the majority of the video's action.

The band themselves are primarily shown playing in a field during a sunny day, but later also shine a light in the dark as they carry lit torches for a crowd of young people on their own path. As for the conceptual side, we see a young girl walking through a forest while being pursued by a robe wearing masked figure. But while this may seem ominous and threatening at first, the payoff is something quite different.

During a track-by-track commentary video issued by the band, Bruce spoke more in depth about "Here I Am," stating, "We're not shying behind anything. So ask me anything, say what you will, but here I am. I'm f--king screaming at the top of my lungs and I'm not trying to hide behind false ideologies. This is who I am, what I've been through and that kind of encompasses this whole record. It's a very honest, open record."

"Here I Am" is featured on Asking Alexandria's latest release, The Black. The album is the first featuring new vocalist Denis Stoff. The disc is currently available via Amazon and iTunes. Asking Alexandria catch a bit of a breather in early June with only a handful of dates scheduled, before launching the next leg of their North American touring. See all of their dates here.
