English melodic metalcore darlings Asking Alexandria have stepped up their game with a new remix album ‘Stepped Up and Scratched,’ which comes out Nov. 21. The album features dance and rave-inspired mixes by Borgore, Celldweler, Born of Osiris, Big Chocolate, Tomba and others.

“We are all into a lot of different kinds of music (rock, pop, blues, swing, dance, house, electro), so stepping out of our comfort zone is something we are used to,” said guitarist and songwriter Ben Bruce. “This album is a representation of this band as an artist, not just as a metal band. It is full of great remixes that would be perfect in a club/rave setting or at home just to party to.”

In addition to a bevy of new beats and samples, the DJs that worked on ‘Stepped up and Scratched’ retained most of the blazing guitar rhythms and hammering bass lines from the original recordings. “Not only is ‘Stepped up and Scratched’ a predominantly electronic album, but we decided we wanted to keep it heavy and be different so you will find a lot of the actual music has been left in to the mixes making it a really unique listen and a completely fresh sound and feel,” said Bruce.

After a special Halloween show with ex-Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler, Asking Alexandria launch their co-headlining North American tour with Hollywood Undead on Nov. 1. Borgore, We Came as Romans and D.R.U.G.S. will open. Then, the band will join Avenged Sevenfold for an arena trek that runs through Dec. 14 in Yakima, Wash.

“This is going to be our most uncompromising and crazy live show yet,” Bruce said. “We won’t stop until everyone knows our name. We won’t stop until this music kills us. We are stronger, louder, harder and more determined than ever.”
