Flyleaf are gearing up to release their third studio album, ‘New Horizons.’ The Texas-based outfit first got together in 2000, and their sincere music has taken the rock world by storm since releasing their debut album in 2005. On the new disc, expect a well-rounded collection of hard-edged songs about rebirth and renewal.
The gentlemen of Shinedown are knee-deep in promotion for their latest album, ‘Amaryllis,’ and the hard work is paying off, as the rock group already have two No. 1 singles in ‘Bully’ and ‘Unity’ off the album. Shinedown are currently headlining the 2012 Uproar Festival, which boasts a lineup that also features heavy-hitters such as Staind, P.O.D., Godsmack, Adelitas Way and others.

Say, you missed For Today on the Vans Warped Tour this past summer? Don’t sweat it. The Christian metalcore band are hitting the road again this fall, as the guy have just announced a headlining tour of the states. The trek kicks off Oct. 11 in St. Petersburg, Fla., and runs through Nov. 11 in Greensboro, N.C. Bands slated to open are some of Christian metal’s heaviest names, including Impending Doom, Sleeping Giant, the Chariot, Texas in July and Hundredth.
Angry Birds is all the rage these days, and now Green Day are getting in on the mayhem. The band is teaming up with Rovio Entertainment, the creator of Angry Birds, to prep a new musical episode for Angry Birds Friends. The installment will offer 10 never-before-seen themed levels, plus new “bad pig” characters that will take the likeness of band members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool.
