Iron Maiden Chosen as First Rock Band to Play Stockholm’s Friends Arena

The boys of Iron Maiden are breaking new ground for rock and metal, as the group will be the first rock band ever to play Stockholm’s Friends Arena. The 50,000-capacity venue is brand new, so Iron Maiden will christen the arena with their pummeling metal tracks on July 13, 2013.

The Christian metalcore band are hitting the road again this fall, as the guy have just announced a headlining tour of the states. The trek kicks off Oct. 11 in St. Petersburg, Fla., and runs through Nov. 11 in Greensboro, N.C. Bands slated to open are some of Christian metal’s heaviest names, including Impending Doom, Sleeping Giant, the Chariot, Texas in July and Hundredth.

Green Day Star in Upcoming Angry Birds Episode

Angry Birds is all the rage these days, and now Green Day are getting in on the mayhem. The band is teaming up with Rovio Entertainment, the creator of Angry Birds, to prep a new musical episode for Angry Birds Friends. The installment will offer 10 never-before-seen themed levels, plus new “bad pig” characters that will take the likeness of band members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool.
