In the most recent of these strange deaths, Samong “Avaejee” Traisattha, vocalist for the black metal band Surrender of Divinity, was stabbed to death in his home on Jan. 8, 2014. The Thai musician was discovered by his wife, who had just put the couple’s child to bed.

According to Avaejee’s wife, a fan named Prakam Harnphanbusakorn had come over to have some shirts screen-printed and have a drink. When she returned to the living room, she found her husband dead. Afterward, a Facebook user took credit for the slaying posting a photo of Samong’s body and typing up a detailed confession in which they claimed to have committed the crime because the musician played black metal but wasn’t a true Satanist.
