Avenged Sevenfold's M. Shadows teamed up with Loudwire to put a challenge out to the band's fans and they've responded with some amazing covers of the musical themes from the brand new 'Hail to the King: Deathbat' video game.

The group premiered three of the themes at Loudwire and Arcade Sushi, then asked for covers that they could judge. Shadows, who came up with the idea for the contest after loving to cover video game themes when he was younger, recently told us, "I've watched every single one of those videos so far that have popped up. It's pretty cool. It's pretty impressive."

After checking out the clips, Avenged Sevenfold have crowned Cameron Ryan's rendition of the 'Nightmare Theme' the grand prize winner. Ryan's entry can be seen above as he splits his time between multiple instruments in covering the song. For his efforts, Ryan will receive an amazing Avenged Sevenfold prize pack featuring an iPad Air pre-loaded with the 'Hail to the King: Deathbat' game, the band's entire digital catalog, a signed Schecter guitar and more.

There were also several runners up as well and you can watch their performances below. Watch RS Dezhen take on the 'Andronikos Theme,' the band Oppressed Affliction rocking out the 'Nightmare Theme' and both Ed Beever and Motley Misfit providing their renditions of 'Wicked End.'

Each of the runners up will also receive a signed Schecter Guitar and a merch pack related to the Deathbat Video Game. Get more info on 'Hail to the King: Deathbat' here.
