Avenged Sevenfold partnered with Hartford-based radio station WCCC to raise funds for 9/11-related charities on the 10th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in history. Since the Sept. 11 date of UPROAR took place in Hartford, Conn., it made total sense for the band to link up with the local rock station and to join forces for good. When all was said and done, the band, the station and the tour raised $11,000 in aid. No one can ever say that rock music isn't a vehicle that advances a common good.

The band presented checks onstage last weekend to both the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund at the Hartford show. It always warms our hearts to see a rock band do its part and to give back to their fellow Americans.

Many props to A7X, who just announced a massive headline arena tour, to the UPROAR tour organizers, who matched WCCC listener donations, to the fans who donated and to WCCC for their efforts.
