On the third day of the first-ever Axes & Anchors Cruise, the morning began with a cool workshop lead by Marty Friedman in the Caribbean Theater. The venue also held blistering performances by Zakk Wylde and Yngwie Malmsteen in the morning. It wasn’t only about guitars, as Act of Defiance drummer Shawn Drover talked about double bass techniques, endurance and consistency.

The band photo ops of the day included fans getting to meet Breaking Benjamin, all of the members in the Randy Rhoads Remembered gang as well as guitarist Mike Orlando, Aranda, the very funny lads in Falling Through April and others.

Afterward, Gilby Clarke performed a rocking performance the intimate Adriatic Lounge.  Over at the Casino Stage, Halcyon Way heated things up as they completely ripped through their set. The Atlanta based metal band has a unique and heavy sound that captured the attention of rock fans and other folks on the cruise who just stopped by to take a look. Whether on land or at sea, the force of Halcyon Way is not to be missed. Another vigorous performance was provided by Act of Defiance, the band which includes ex-Megadeth members Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover.

Out on the pool deck stage, Thousand Foot Krutch got the blood pumping early on with their soaring set. Fans also gathered for a commanding performance from Motionless in White. A highlight of the night included the Randy Rhoads Remembered tribute which featured notable guitarists like Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Alex Skolnick, Mike Orlando and Marzi Montazeri, fronted by Kill Devil Hill vocalist Dewey Bragg. Rhoads' bandmate and friend bassist Rudy Sarzo also graced the stage for some tunes. A touching moment happened when Randy Rhoads' brother and sister came out onstage to address the crowd and pay tribute to their late and legendary brother.
