At the 2012 Grammy Awards, millions of people tuned in to see Foo Fighters conquer the rock awards by winning five trophies during the ceremony. One of their five golden gramophones was for the Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance category — as the band beat out fellow nominees Megadeth, Mastodon, Dream Theater and Sum 41.

Foo Fighters came out victorious in a category that was filled with an incredible amount of talent – and there has been much debate over the results. Although the Foo Fighters victory was by no means an “upset,” Foos frontman Dave Grohl went on the record claiming that he felt bad for defeating Dream Theater in the category.

Each band nominated arguably deserves a Grammy for various points of their storied careers, but we want to know who you were pulling for in the year 2012. Which nominated song deserved the 2012 Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance Grammy? Cast your vote in the poll below.
