Black Label Society 'Unblackened' Tour

Black Label Society plan to hit the road in April, but the shows will be a little different than what fans are used to. A couple of years ago, the band played a one-off concert at Los Angeles' Club Nokia in a more acoustic nature, and the event was eventually taped for the 'Unblackened' live CD and DVD release.

Zakk Wylde says, "I always wanted to take 'Unblackened' on the road, we just didn’t have the time until now. You can take a song that you’ve played thousands of times and rearrange it, and all of a sudden it’s something totally fresh. The attitude of the songs doesn’t change when we play them acoustically -- the tunes are gritty regardless.”

The performances will find Black Label Society offering audiences a more intimate show. Along with BLS music, the setlist is expected to include material from Wylde's solo disc, 'Book of Shadows,' as well as material from his southern rock band Pride & Glory.

Black Label Society have been supporting their 'Catacombs of the Black Vatican' album, which has spawned fan favorites such as 'My Dying Time,' 'Angel of Mercy' and 'Scars.' And it would not be a surprise to see some of the songs find their way into the 'Unblackened' set. Look for the trek kicking off April 3 in Huntington, N.Y. and continuing through an April 19 finale in Anaheim, Calif. Check out the tour dates below.
