The Doom Crew was in full force as Black Label Society brought a heavy, yet stripped down performance to Long Island, N.Y. in support of their live acoustic album Unblackened.

The night kicked off with a cover of Pride & Glory's “Losin’ Your Mind” before Black Label pulled out another Pride & Glory track, “Machine Gun Man,” later on in the set.

Special song surprises included the live premiere of tracks “Scars” and “Empty Promises.” Despite the set being partially acoustic, ears rung, fists pumped and Black Label Society maintained their level of grit and badass-ness throughout.

Along with piano driven tunes “Angel of Mercy” and “In This River,” Black Label Society also cranked out favorites “Suicide Messiah” and “The Blessed Hellride.”

With generations of fans in the crowd, it’s easy to see why Zakk Wylde and the timeless music of Black Label Society has been going strong for well over 15 years.

Scott “Wino” Weinrich of doom metal band Saint Vitus opened up the show with just himself and his guitar to perform an acoustic set.
