As the drama surrounding the Black Sabbath reunion continues to spiral, original drummer Bill Ward has reached out to fans, thanking them for their support.

Ward spoke out earlier this week (Feb. 2) in a statement saying that he was going to withdraw from the band’s reunion plans due to the “unsignable” contracts that were being offered to him. The lengthy statement talks about Ward’s commitment to the band and just wanting to be treated fairly, saying he’s only asking for “a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band.”

The rest of the band then responded to Ward’s statement saying that they had no choice but to continue recording without him, causing Sabbath fans to form a divide and choose sides.

Ward took to his official website yesterday (Feb. 4), releasing a statement to fans thanking them for their support. He said:

Dear Sabbath Fans,

This is Bill. I just wanted to humbly thank you all.Your support from across the world has given me further strength and hope for a positive resolve.I have been moved and overwhelmed by the thousands of messages. I love you all.

Rock forever,
Bill

So it doesn't look like anything has been resolved in the Black Sabbath camp just yet. This begs the question, if Ward doesn't return to record the new album, who will play drums for Black Sabbath and how does this impact the reunion?
