Black Sabbath kicked off their final tour last night (Jan. 20) with a killer arena show in Omaha, Neb. Sabbath's set was rich with classics, as 9 out of 14 songs performed came off the Black Sabbath and Paranoid albums.

The band's current touring lineup of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Tommy Clufetos seems to be saying goodbye with a powerful wave of nostalgia. Fan favorites like "Black Sabbath," "War Pigs" and "Paranoid" were on Sabbath's set as usual, but the seminal heavy metal band surprised those in attendance by whipping out the seven-minute "Hand of Doom" for the first time since 1978. That's almost a 40-year absence from any Sabbath live show.

Ozzy Osbourne is often hit-or-miss when it comes to live vocal performances. He is 67 years old, after all. "Osbourne's voice wasn't great," writes Kevin Coffey of Omaha.com. "It wasn't awful, really. It simply wasn't very good. On Wednesday, he was sometimes flat. He was sometimes pitchy, occasionally off-key. He almost never hit the notes he was looking for. It was the first show of the tour, so maybe his voice will warm up. Maybe they're still working out the sound in his monitors."

Unsurprisingly, Iommi's guitar playing was described as "pure thundering bliss." Iommi has always been the master of the metal riff and his tones is often flawless, so fans in each city Sabbath plan to hit will likely be blown out of their seats.

“This is the beginning of the end for us and I just wanted to say thank you for all of your support all these years,” Osbourne said at the show's conclusion. “Thank you. Goodnight. God bless you all.”
