Black Sabbath vs. Iron Maiden – Metal Madness 2017, Semifinals

Vertigo / EMI
Vertigo / EMI

Two of England’s metal giants do battle in the Semifinals of our Metal Madness tournament, but only one will advance to the Championship battle in hopes of being crowned the Best Debut Metal Album of All Time!

In the Quarterfinals, Black Sabbath‘s eponymous debut faced its toughest competition yet: Tool’s Undertow. Sabbath still managed to pull in two-thirds of the votes, extending their winning streak which also includes victories over Ghost and Mercyful Fate.

Old school and new school clashed last round as Iron Maiden‘s self-titled offering faced off against Slipknot’s Slipknot. It was a right contest, but Maiden took home 55 percent of the votes. They had previously knocked off another modern heavyweight, Disturbed, as well as Cynic.

So, which album will move on to the Championship battle of Metal Madness 2017? Vote below for either Black Sabbath’s Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden’s Iron Maiden as the Best Debut Metal Album of all time in the poll below!

(This poll will end on Thursday, March 30, at 10AM ET. Fans are able to vote once per hour, so keep coming back to make sure your favorite debut album wins!)
