Body Count Rock ‘Killer’ Show in NYC [Photos]
Body Count have just unleashed their latest album, 'Manslaughter,' and frontman Ice-T and company celebrated the release with a stellar show at New York's Gramercy Theatre.
The band kicked things off with 'Body Count's in the House' off their 1992 self-titled debut album, and proceeded to bust out a blistering set of new songs and older cuts. The new disc was well represented, with songs like 'Talk S--t, Get Shot,' 'Manslaughter' and 'B-tch in the Pit' making the setlist. Before 'B-tch in the Pit,' which is an homage to woman who aren't afraid to get their mosh on, Ice-T pointed out a young woman who was throwing down with the fellas and dedicated the song to her.
The band, featuring lead guitarist Ernie C. (the only original member of Body Count besides Ice-T), was in fine form, delivering an electrifying set. Classic songs like 'There Goes the Neighborhood' and 'Cop Killer' whipped the crowd into a frenzy. Meanwhile, Ice-T was a tour de force, engaging the crowd with his scorching lyrics and intriguing banter.
New York hardcore veterans Madball supported Body Count with a forceful set, as vocalist Freddy Cricien bounced around the stage like the Energizer bunny. Definitely catch these guys live if you get a chance.
As for Body Count, you can catch Ice-T and the guys this summer on the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival tour alongside Avenged Sevenfold, Korn and more. Also, be sure to pick up their rock-solid new album 'Manslaughter' (available at iTunes). See our exclusive photos from the New York City show below.
