President of Brazil Rocks System of a Down’s ‘Chop Suey’
After System of a Down announced their upcoming return in late 2010, rock and metal fans around the world rejoiced. Even Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff hasn’t been able to contain her excitement, as seen in a very special cover of ‘Chop Suey.’
President Rousseff has had an illustrious political career and is celebrated as a feminist icon. She was listed as the 16th most powerful person in the world by Forbes in 2010, received the Woodrow Wilson Public Service Award and was awarded Bulgaria’s highest state honor, the Order of Stara Planina. Obviously, Rousseff plans to add a Grammy to her mantle with this fascinating “cover” of ‘Chop Suey.’
System of a Down returned from a five-year hiatus, gracing various stages in Europe and North America throughout 2011. Nominated for Comeback of the Year in the first annual Loudwire Awards, System of a Down have proven to be one of the most popular hard rock acts of the 2000s.
