Great news for fans of brutal death metal! The iconic Cannibal Corpse have just announced plans to record their 13th studio album. In a new interview with bassist Alex Webster, the musician reveals that Cannibal Corpse are shooting for a 2014 release for their next disc.

Cannibal Corpse kept their legacy of brutality going in 2012 with the full-length 'Torture.' Fans ate up the Cannibal offering, and we can only assume that followers of the band are hungry for more.

Alex Webster shared Cannibal Corpse's 2014 plans during an interview with Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles. We do have in mind certain things that we are eyeing up for next year, after the album comes out," says Webster. "A rough idea is to start touring and put an album out by the middle of the year or maybe a little later."

Webster hopes to hit the studio with Cannibal Corpse in the early months of 2014, but the band won't be going with Erik Rutan this time around. "In February and March and then into early April we will be recording," Webster reveals. "We are going to go into Audio Hammer Studios and have Mark Lewis (Trivium, Deicide, Six Feet Under) produce us. We really like a lot of stuff he's done. We did three great records ('Kill,' 'Evisceration Plague' and 'Torture') with my good friend Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal), he's one of the best. We felt like, 'man, we've done three awesome records with him, let's try doing something different.' Not because we are displeased with what he's done - he did a fantastic job - but we just felt like mixing it up."

Stay tuned for more updates on Cannibal Corpse's 13th studio album. As soon as news breaks, we'll be sure to post it.
