It all began back in the late '90s when Slipknot, a bunch of masked marauders out of the Midwest, injected the metal scene with exactly the kick in the pants it had been needing. On April 18, 1974, Mark Tremonti was born into the world in Detroit, Mich. Years later, the guitar great has carved out his place in rock history, delivering a string of hits with three different rock bands -- Creed, Alter Bridge and his own self-titled band Tremonti. With just shy of 20 years in the music industry, Tremonti has been part of a wealth of great songs, but which one is his best? That's the subject of this Readers Poll.
After a week of rumors, AC/DC confirmed that there were key elements of truth in some of the gossip that had been swirling around. In a statement, they confirmed that guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young (seen at right above with brother Angus) was taking a break from the band due to ill health. However, the talk that this would lead to the band retiring was premature, as they also confirmed they would continue making music.
