If you weren’t familiar with the folk tune ‘Man of Constant Sorrow’ before seeing the movie ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?,’ released in 2000 directed by the Coen Brothers starring George Clooney, then you probably left the movie theater with the catchy song permanently stored in your memory banks. However, the tune was around long before the movie, written in 1913 by folk singer Dick Burnett and re-recorded by various different artists throughout the years.

It was definitely a song that impacted the Charm City Devils and when it came time to select a cover tune for their new disc ‘Sins,' ‘Man of Constant Sorrow’ was the leading contender. Even though it wasn't exactly their genre, they felt they could make it work. The band had to gave the song a little facelift to adapt it to fit their style - changing the arrangement, adding a chorus, and making it truly rock while maintaining the original vibe of the tune.

Charm City Devils recently debuted the video for their take on the song. It kicks off with a black and white treatment mixing live performance clips of the band, intertwined with their dark story line, which you’ll have to watch to see! Check it out below.

'Sins' is due out later this week on April 10. Hit up the band's website to find out more and tune in later this week for our in-depth interview with CCD frontman John Allen.
