Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell recently teased plans for a new solo acoustic album and Australian tour. As expected, more details have been revealed and more dates have been scheduled.

Cornell already revealed the new album will be titled Higher Truth. Now we know he worked on the solo acoustic set with producer Brendan O'Brien and the album carries a Sept. 18 street date.

Meanwhile, fans in North America will soon be able to enjoy the intimate acoustic performance that Cornell had already announced for Australian fans. The North American leg of tour dates in support of the disc will begin on Sept. 20 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. The tour heads north from there along the West Coast before crossing into Canada, the northern Midwest, back into Canada, the Northeastern U.S. and eventually snaking into the South before wrapping at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas on Nov. 2.

American Express cardholder members can access an exclusive pre-sale beginning at June 3 at 10AM local time. Fans who signed up for Cornell's email list are also being granted early access to tickets and are being provided with an exclusive link and code word today. The public on sale starts on June 5 and 6 depending on the market. For additional info, check Cornell's website.

Cornell is also diverting $1 from every ticket sold to the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation that aids children facing homelessness, poverty, abuse or neglect issues. See the complete North American tour itinerary below.
