Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor and Lamb of God's Randy Blythe have a lot in common. Besides being friends and tour mates, the two metal musicians are accomplished authors. As Blythe told us during a recent interview, he asked a few friends for advice while penning his Czech prison memoir, Dark Days, so when Corey Taylor stopped by our studio, we asked Corey exactly what he told Randy.

Randy Blythe's Dark Days comes in at almost 500 pages, so it's not surprising that Blythe felt like he was going out of his mind at times while writing the memoir. Corey Taylor has had a total of three books published, so he became the perfect go-to guy for Randy.

"If you hold yourself back because you're looking for that perfect sentence, you'll be sitting there forever," Taylor said. The best thing you can do is just kinda vomit it out." Corey also praised Randy's writing in Dark Days and how the Lamb of God vocalist has a natural gift for being able to put the reader in each scene.
