As Slipknot prepare to hit the road on the "Summer's Last Stand" tour, frontman Corey Taylor has offered an update on his other band Stone Sour's upcoming releases along with a possible solo project.

Taylor recently did an interview with Eddie Trunk that you can check out above. They talked about Taylor's new book You’re Making Me Hate You along with Slipknot. Around the 41-minute mark they discuss Stone Sour.

"We've still got the two EPs that we're going to release," Taylor says. "We did the first covers EP, which was Meanwhile in Burbank. We've got Straight Out of Burbank coming soon, in about a month or so, and then the third one is No Sleep Til Burbank, which is going to be great. It's kind of the Burbank tapes."

Taylor continues, It's something we've been talking about for years, and we finally found the time to to do it. We recorded all the music on our own and just kind of had fun with it, and that's given us time to get some demos and stuff going."

As far as new material, Taylor adds, "I've got about eight tunes that I've written. It's kind of going in a different direction than the older stuff, a little more rock 'n' roll ... expanding the range again. There's stuff on the horizon, but I've got Slipknot until, call it June of next year. It's going to be, kind of, where I can, filling in the blanks and getting everything ready for when that happens."

As for the solo project, we may get to hear the softer side of Taylor. He tweeted the following earlier this week: "The more people ask, the more I'm giving serious thought to making an acoustic album. Can do it on my own time -- wouldn't want to f--k w/either band."

Slipknot's "Summer's Last Stand" tour, which also includes Lamb of GodBullet for My Valentine and Motionless in White, kicks off this Friday, July 24 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
