In support of their latest studio album, Hammer of the Witches, Cradle of Filth will be embarking on the Inquisitional Torture 2016 tour, a headlining run across North America beginning Jan. 26 in Philadelphia and stretching all the way through March 8 with a New York show.

Accompanying the English outfit will be Los Angeles' Butcher Babies and Australian progressive death metal act Ne Obliviscaris, who are both supporting 2015 albums. The two bands will serve as a complement to Cradle of Filth with Butcher Babies delivering their twin vocal attack in rapid fire succession, much like the delivery of Dani Filth's storybook lyrics. Ne Obliviscaris will balance out the cinematic side of things, offering a nice teaser for what the headlining act does so well.

Cradle of Filth's Hammer of the Witches was released in July via Nuclear Blast to wild fanfare, with many calling it the band's strongest disc in years. The album is a blistering attack that sees the group weave together their signature blend of black metal, gothic elements complete with ethereal female vocals and pure speed all wrapped up in the pictorial bow presented through their imaginative and descriptive lyrics.

Ne Obliviscaris recently made waves when they announced that drummer Dan Presland had resigned from his job as a train driver, leaving behind a yearly salary of $150,000 to pursue his career with the band.
