Shifty Shellshock, best known from his work in rap-metal act Crazy Town, has fallen into a coma and is unresponsive at a Los Angeles hospital. The 'Butterfly' singer, born Seth Binzer, is currently in an Intensive Care Unit.

The 37-year-old Shift Shellshock has remained in the spotlight in recent years due to his stints on 'Celebrity Rehab' and 'Sober House,' where he publicly battled his addiction demons.

TMZ reports that the Binzer has been in a state of comatose since last Thursday (March 29). The cause of the coma has not yet been revealed, although it was said that his friends would not be surprised if substance abuse factored into play.

The singer was slated to appear in court this week for a pre-trial hearing pertaining to his arrest for cocaine possession on Feb. 12.

Jasmine Lennard, Binzer's ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, 2, said that his family never told her he was in the hospital and that she learned of his condition through friends. She also said the family blames her for his latest drug relapse, since she left him over the holidays.
