This summer just got a little dirtier and a little blacker! Danzig has not only been in the studio to work on his new record — his first since 2010 — but has also completed the long-talked about Danzig Sings Elvis album.

Back in late October of last year, we reported that Glenn Danzig had confirmed he was done with 80 percent of his 10th album of original material. Providing an update on the Danzig Facebook page (seen below), a statement read, "Danzig was in the studio this week working on the next Danzig record of all new material since 2010's critically acclaimed Deth Red Sabaoth. He was joined by longtime guitarist Tommy Victor & former drummer & friend Joey Castillo. Joey Castillo also [laid] down some drums on an Elvis track for the 'Danzig Sings Elvis' Record, which Danzig says is now finished & ready for release. Can't Wait!!"

In addition to Deth Red Sabaoth, Danzig's recent string of releases includes last year's covers album, Skeletons, both of which featured Type O Negative and Kill Devil Hill skinsman Johnny Kelly. Castillo began performing with Danzig in 1994, contributing to three records — Danzig 5: Blackacidevil, Danzig 6:66: Satan's Child and Danzig 777: I Luciferi — before departing in 2002. From there, he joined Queens of the Stone Age for the next decade.

When we spoke with Danzig last October, he told us "I don't think I'm going to tour anymore," when speaking about the Danzig band. Months later in May earlier this year, it was revealed that Danzig and Jerry Only had mended fences and would be reuniting the Misfits lineup (backed by Doyle on guitar and a yet-to-be-announced drummer) for both installments of the 2016 Riot Fest.
