The Foo Fighters have enjoyed their time off the road this year, but it's time to get back to work. In fact, as can be seen in a new photo, frontman Dave Grohl has been bleeding for his art.

Dave Grohl posted a photo on the band's Facebook page that features a close-up of a white guitar with red blood splatter on it. The gore witnessed in the pic is the result of Foo Fighters' first practice together in quite a while. Grohl even writes, "First practice. Been too long. Look out, Mexico … xoxo Dave."

The posting can be seen below:

Grohl and his Foo Fighters bandmates are heading to Mexico City for a pair of dates next month. The band will make their live return at the Foro Sol on Dec. 11 and 13. Even though it's been since late 2012 that the band has played as the Foo Fighters, the members did support Dave Grohl during the live support of his 'Sound City' documentary earlier this year. Grohl has also turned up at a few shows by Chevy Metal, which features drummer Taylor Hawkins and has included fellow Foo Chris Shiflett.
