Days of the New frontman Travis Meeks was arrested in Portland, Maine, on Oct. 10 for the offense of being a fugitive from justice. After it was revealed that Meeks was a wanted man in Gibson County, Ind., police arrested Meeks as he arrived at Portland venue The Asylum.

Over the weekend, we were given tips by multiple readers that Meeks was arrested, and in the Oct. 12 edition of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office's Media Arrest Summary, Meeks is listed. The Days of the New frontman's Indiana warrant is for failing to appear in court after being charged with possession of a hypodermic needle.

The original Days of the New lineup reunited earlier this year for a tour, but at a disastrous St. Louis concert on Sept. 6, the band unravelled onstage after Meeks was apparently unable to perform properly. After Meeks' bandmates left the stage, the frontman reportedly remained onstage before wandering around the audience, speaking incoherently and yelling at a merch stand worker. Travis Meeks continued to tour with a fresh lineup of musicians, but his Oct. 10 has arrest put an end to that for now.

After Meeks' arrest, the local support bands continued on with the Portland gig and fans were given full refunds. Days of the New promptly announced the cancellation of their Oct. 11 gig in Rhode Island. The band is also unsure if the Rhode Island show will be rescheduled.

Former Days of the New member Jesse Vest commented on Meeks' arrest via Facebook:
