No. 16: Deftones, ‘Adrenaline’ – Best Debut Hard Rock Albums

It took Deftones seven years to finally record their first full-length album, but the wait was worth it, as 'Adrenaline' recruited a cult fan base for the Californian band.

'Adrenaline' showcases an incredibly raw Deftones, with tracks such as 'Bored,' 'Lifer' and the infectious '7 Words' providing a slight hint towards the melodic future awaiting the band. Deftones' sound has always been soaked with atmosphere, but accomplishing that characteristic strictly through composition rather than modern studio magic was a true accomplishment for one of modern rock's most important bands.
