It's been about six months since guitarist DJ Ashba announced his departure from Guns N' Roses. Obviously, a ton has happened since that time, with Slash and Duff McKagan coming back into the fold. There's only positive feelings coming from Ashba, though, saying he "couldn't be happier for the fans."

Ashba spent six years performing with Guns N' Roses, touring the world for some of rock's most rabid fans. He came into the fold shortly after Chinese Democracy was released in 2008, so despite his lengthy time in the band, Ashba's only official credit on a GN'R release was as a performer on the band's 2012 Appetite for Democracy 3D concert film.

"I couldn't be more stoked for the fanbase," Ashba tells 93.3 WMMR about the GN'R reunion. "They've waited a long time for this to happen, and, God, it's so good that it's happening. I couldn't be happier for the fans, you know."

Ashba also spoke of the challenges balancing his duties for Guns N' Roses as an active member of Sixx: A.M. "It was a lot of work, but I've gotta be honest, you know, I had the time of my life. I'm beyond grateful to have shared the stage and had so many great memories and met so many great fans out there, and it was just a great time of my life. However, we did this last Sixx: A.M. run, and it just really kind of made me go, 'Wait a second! There is a huge difference here playing somebody else's songs and playing my own.' You know what I mean? I just felt every note I hit. And it's, like, 'Wow! This is where I need to be in.' It was that tour that made me realize, 'I need to go back to what I'm really about.' So I'm really, really stoked."

Involvement of classic GN'R members Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler has been rumored since the reunion of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan became official, but there have been no confirmations regarding their statuses.
