The 2013 CBGB Music & Film Festival will be held Oct. 9-13 in New York, and Velvet Revolver / Walking Papers / ex-Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan has been tapped to deliver the music festival keynote address for the festival/conference.

In addition to his musical career, McKagan is involved in several other endeavors. He's a writer, actor and producer who also formed a wealth management company designed to help educate musicians about their finances.

Named for the legendary club CBGB that was the launching pad for such bands as the Ramones and Blondie, the CBGB Festival is described as New York City's largest ever showcase of music, film, art, social awareness, entertainment industry workshops and conferences.

It will feature more than 500 artists in over 175 venues in Brooklyn and Manhattan. The event will also host more than 125 speakers and 100 music-related films for a total of more than 700 live events.

One of the most anticipated events of the festival is the premiere of the movie 'CBGB.' It's based on the behind-the-scenes story of the club that helped spawn the U.S. punk movement and stars Alan Rickman ('Harry Potter,' 'Love Actually'), Malin Akerman ('Watchmen,' 'The Proposal'), Johnny Galecki ('Big Bang Theory), Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) as Iggy Pop, and many others.
