When the Allstars Tour came to New York City's Gramercy Theater, metal fans began to work up a sweat early on as they spent a full day in the crammed venue. With a dozen bands playing and doors opening at 2 PM, it made for one of the lengthiest shows of the year.

Buffalo New York hardcore metalers Every Time I Die headlined the massive show and performed with heavy gusto. Fans sang word for word and crowd surfed vigorously throughout the set of 20 tracks. With six full length albums under their belt, they kicked off their performance with the fan favorite ‘We’rewolf.’

Known for their colorful song titles, the band played tracks from their latest record ‘Ex-Lives’ such as ‘Partying Is Such Sweet Sorrow’ and ’Underwater Bimbos from Outer Space.’ With Every Time I Die, there are no gimmicks, it’s just five guys, raw energy and a whole lot of talent.

Chelsea Grin and Veil of Maya also erupted onto the stage as support on the tour. There were not enough security guards to handle the zealous crowd during both of the bands' forceful sets.

L.A. hardcore group Terror had the best set of the entire show. It's likely a good deal of the crowd had never seen Terror before but once frontman Scott Vogel worked his magic onstage, it was clear that Terror overcame them. Bands who went on both before and after Terror should have studied Terror as performers because they are one of the best live acts out there today.

Stray From the Path, Capture the Crown and For All Those Sleeping also held it down during the day but it was Iwrestledabearonce who shined through. The avante garde metal group’s charm and humor were undeniable and ultimately won fans over. After introducing themselves as a System of a Down cover band called “System of a Clown,” they showed off their eclectic style and enthusiastic stage presence.

Dayshell, Ice Nine Kills and Stuctures were among the first few acts of the day and got the blood pumping early in the afternoon. Fans surfed and headbanged enough to bring up the lunch they just had. If a tour with over ten bands isn’t enough to grab your attention, we don’t know what is.
