Tragic news to report, as a young fan has reportedly died following a stage dive at Miss May I's show at the Studio at Webster Hall in New York City last night (May 3).

According to various reports, including ones from Brooklyn Vegan and Billboard.com, 21-year-old Alberto Scott dove off the stage during the metalcore band's gig but no one caught him. He apparently suffered a serious head injury when he landed and was unable to be revived by paramedics.

In a Facebook post, Miss May I acknowledged the incident without going into much detail. The band's post reads as follows:

"Hey everyone, we are aware of the incident that occurred at Webster Hall last night and will be posting a statement shortly. However, we are awaiting further information regarding the situation before we are able to make a full statement."

Several associates of Scott have described him as a massive fan of Miss May I. The blog Sinestra Studios offers an account of the evening along with some tributes from Scott's friends.

Miss May I are touring in support of their new album, 'Rise of the Lion,' which came out April 29. They are scheduled to perform on this summer's Rockstar Mayhem Festival tour, as well.

Our thoughts and condolences got out the family and friends of Alberto Scott during this difficult time.
