Super group Fight or Flight rocked New York’s Gramercy Theater Saturday night (Aug. 3) with support from Mindset Evolution, Anaka and A Lesson in Violence.

With Disturbed’s hiatus, guitarist Dan Donegan and drummer Mike Wengren have teamed up with Evans Blue frontman Dan Chandler to form Fight or Flight. Over the weekend, they introduced fans to some of their new music. The band is touring in support of their new record ‘A Life By Design?’

The band played much of their new disc and also added in a couple of covers such as Tool’s ‘Sober’ and Alice in Chain’s ‘Man in the Box.’ The chemistry between the Fight or Flight bandmates is one of mutual respect and musicianship which can be seen onstage.

Despite having an unexpectedly low turnout to the show, it made for an intimate experience for die-hard fans. Fight or Flight is not Disturbed and it’s not Evans Blue; it’s a separate entity that rocks crowds just as hard. It’s evident that the band is here to take their stance and fight for their music, and their fans are right alongside them.

Mindset Evolution are no strangers to the New York crowd as we saw them when they supported Buckcherry earlier this year. The band brought the same energy at Gramercy Theater this time around.

The Brooklyn boys of Anaka brought their legion of fans and were an incredible force onstage. No doubt they will be headlining larger shows in due time.
