No. 20: Foo Fighters, ‘Foo Fighters’ – Best Debut Hard Rock Albums

Foo Fighters, 'Foo Fighters'
Capitol

After the demise of Nirvana, a distraught Dave Grohl hid himself away in a studio, recorded a bunch of demos on his own and slapped the name Foo Fighters on it to give it some anonymity. ‘This Is a Call’ lived up to its name, grabbing listeners and not letting go. The all-out rocker ‘I’ll Stick Around’ followed and then the band changed the pace with the ultra-poppy ‘Big Me.’ The songs ‘For All the Cows,’ ‘Exhausted’ and ‘Alone + Easy Target’ also became fan favorites.
