MTV recently released the nominees for their 2011 Europe Music Awards, with bands such as Foo Fighters, Linkin Park and Red Hot Chili Peppers attaining multiple nominations. In some of the EMAs' specialty categories such as Best World Stage and Biggest Fans, these bands are battling some of pop music's most dominant artists.

In the Best Live Act category, Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers are both nominated. To win, they'll have to beat out Coldplay, Katy Perry and most notably Lady Gaga, who is well known for her over-the-top stage show and powerful live musicianship.

The Foos and the Chili Peppers are accompanied by Linkin Park for the Best Rock Award, competing against Coldplay once again as well as Tennessee rock giants Kings of Leon.

In the coveted Best Video category, the Beastie Boys are nominated for their hilariously awesome video for 'Make Some Noise.' The Beastie Boys are known for their iconic music videos including 'Sabotage,' 'Intergalactic' and 'Fight for Your Right,' the last of which is continued in 'Make Some Noise' with the Beastie Boys (played by Seth Rogan, Danny McBride and Elijah Wood) escaping the party house. The Beastie Boys will have to fight amongst stars such as Beyonce and Lady Gaga to capture the trophy.

My Chemical Romance and 30 Seconds to Mars are both nominated for the Best Alternative and Best World Stage Awards. The duo are up against the Strokes, Artic Monkeys and Arcade Fire for the Best Alternative Award and will have to beat out Linkin Park and Ozzy Osbourne for the title of Best World Stage performer.

Finally, 30 Seconds to Mars are one of five nominees for the Biggest Fans Award. 30 Seconds are known for their rabid fan base, but they're competing with pop titans Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga for the award.

The MTV EMAs is set to air on Nov. 6 from Belfast, Ireland.
