Whatever happened to John Frusciante? Upon leaving Red Hot Chili Peppers, he was quite prolific with his solo work, but hasn't been heard from since 2009's 'The Empyrean' album.

Now comes word from Consequence of Sound that the reclusive guitar great is ready to emerge from his recording cocoon with a new solo EP. The disc is titled 'Letur Lefr,' and will be available to fans on July 9. While details are still coming together for the disc, R&B vocalist Truth Hurts revealed that she was collaborating with Frusciante back in December.

Since his exit from the band, Frusciante has chosen to remain out of the spotlight. He was invited, but decided not to take part in the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. Perhaps part of his public reluctance has to do with a restraining order filed against a woman who started turning up at shows and at his home last year while trying to pitch him a book deal.
