Ghost have just concluded their "Black to the Future" trek across the U.S., hitting multiple festivals along the way. During their trek, the Swedish clergymen swung by Grand Rapids, Mich., rock station WGRD (a Loudwire Nights affiliate) to infect the local airwaves with a stripped down, three-song acoustic set.

Sporting his new look, shedding the papal robes and hat, singer Papa Emeritus III looks distinguished in his formal attire, slicked back hair and white gloves. Behind him sits three of the five Nameless Ghouls, armed with two acoustic guitars and one electric guitar utilizing its cleaner tone to provide some warmth to the Satanic glow of the Grammy-winning "Cirice" (above), the Roky Erickson cover "If You Have Ghosts" (below) and the Infestissumam cut "Jigolo Har Megiddo" (below).

The ghastly frontman's voice is drenched in reverb, giving a haunting effect to his silky smooth tones. Even in the confines of WGRD's studio, Papa Emeritus III radiates his stage persona with animated arm movements, encouraging fans in the room to clap along with him in "Jigolo Har Megiddo." The stripped down arrangement of "Cirice" manages to sound even eerier than the original with the barren and melancholic acoustic strumming invoking images of fire and brimstone in the most delicate way.

Ghost will soon be heading to Europe as the festival season continues to heat up. A list of upcoming dates can be found at the band's website and for a comprehensive list of festivals, head to our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Festivals.
