The 2012 Gigantour kicked off last week featuring the killer line up of Megadeth, Motorhead, Lacuna Coil and Volbeat. Loudwire recently reviewed the show in NYC, and now we bring you an exclusive gallery of photos from the tour stop in Lowell, Mass. on Jan. 29, 2011.

The show -- filled with the things you would expect like Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, saying, "We are Motorhead and we play rock and f---ing rock and roll!" to the more unexpected things like Lacuna Coil’s Cristina Scabbia joining Megadeth during their set for a live version of ‘A Toute le Monde’ -- offered up a of plethora of pure metal gold throughout the evening.

Dave Mustaine, commenting on the crowd and their level of enthusiasm shortly into Megadeth’s set, still seems to relish shredding live on stage even after all these years, resulting in some of the most meticulously delivered live metal out there on the market today. Flanked by bassist Dave Ellefson, guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover directly behind, the band displayed a level of musicianship that only comes with years of experience.

Lacuna Coil and Volbeat both delivered solid sets, setting the tone for the heavyweights that would take the stage after them. Lacuna Coil played songs from their latest release ‘Dark Adrenaline,’ and Volbeat followed suit with a high-energy, interactive set. Take a look at photos from the Lowell, Mass. show below:
