Shortly before the release of his 'Avalon Live' box set, Godsmack frontman Sully Erna will take his solo act on the road for a series of east coast shows starting this March.

This is a good year to be a Godsmack fan. The band has a live album currently in the mixing phase, a special retail release planned, a covers EP coming soon, and a co-headlining spring tour with Staind featuring Halestorm. Before the 'Mass Chaos' tour gets under way, frontman Sully Erna will embark on a brief tour of the East Coast beginning March 30 in Sayreville, N.J.

Details of Erna's upcoming tour were released today and, although only four dates have been announced, more will be unveiled in the coming weeks. There will likely only be a few more shows added to Erna's itinerary, as Godsmack's 'Mass Chaos' tour kicks off on April 13.

Sully Erna recently announced plans to release a concert DVD -- filmed during his solo tour -- as part of the 'Avalon Live' box set, which, among other things, includes three DVDs, a poster, guitar pick, t-shirt, and a Sully engraved metal box. The DVD was filmed at his Dec. 16 show in Boston, where performed songs from his 2010 debut solo album 'Avalon.' The limited edition box set has a tentative late April release date.
