Godsmack won their Round 1 matchup as "I Stand Alone" earned a solid victory over Velvet Revolver's "Slither" to advance. The chart-topping single got a boost from its inclusion in The Scorpion King soundtrack, and was nominated for Best Rock Song and Best Hard Rock Performance. But will Godsmack move one step closer to the Rocktober Rumble title?

They square off against Papa Roach, as "Last Resort" handily emerged victorious over Trapt's "Headstrong" in Round 1. Back in 2000, you couldn't escape this very personal Papa Roach song, which launched their career. The song became their calling card even though they've had a very successful run at radio over the last 16 years. Can "Last Resort" keep it rolling?
