Gojira's much-anticipated new album 'L’Enfant Sauvage' has just been released. It’s the French band’s fifth full-length studio release, and their first since signing with Roadrunner Records. The title track has been named one of Loudwire’s Best Metal Songs of 2012 (So Far) .

To celebrate the release, a video of Gojira performing 'Toxic Garbage Island' live has been posted. It’s part of the DVD that comes with the deluxe edition of the album. The bonus DVD 'Les Eurockéennes 2009' consists of 11 songs spanning their career, with an emphasis on 2008‘s 'The Way of All Flesh.'

'L’Enfant Sauvage' is about freedom and responsibility, and in a recent interview, Full Metal Jackie asked Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier about that subject. "I have less and less freedom and more and more responsibility. [Laughs] It’s very hard, it’s a very hard life that we have but it’s the only option I can think of. I’m living a dream, it’s a hard dream but it’s really fantastic – we hang out with one of our biggest heroes, the Metallicas, the Slayers and we’re on the road and we do the music that we like and we have this feeling that we make no compromise at all."

Duplantier goes on to say, "Every day we need to be on time for the show and we work with a bunch of people, we have a crew around us, we have a lot of responsibilities but it’s a choice – I think freedom for us are in the choices that we make for our lives, for our futures, for our souls. We’re just having a blast constantly, on a certain level, on another level it’s hard because the music industry and all that is not easy to deal with but we find a balance somehow."

In addition to the new album, Gojira also has a DVD 'The Flesh Alive' that will be released July 31. It includes two full concerts along with a documentary with behind the scenes footage of 'The Way of All Flesh' tour and an hour plus long live CD.
