Gorguts Reveal Details for Long-Awaited Album ‘Colored Sands’

Canadian technical death metal maestros Gorguts have lifted the veil on 'Colored Sands,' the band's highly anticipated new album coming after a 12-year drought.

Gorguts have been pummeling out brutal death metal since 1989, releasing four studio albums in the process. After a three-year hiatus and the tragic suicide of longtime drummer Steve MacDonald, Gorguts are set to return with their fifth full-length album.

'Colored Sands' will become available on Sept. 3 in the United States and Aug. 30 in the rest of the world via Season of Mist. Fans will have the luxury of being able to purchase the album on a CD Digipack or in the LP format, which includes black vinyl, yellow in red vinyl (limited to 150 copies), and clear vinyl (limited to 350 copies).

The current Gorguts crew is comprised of longtime member Luc Lemay on guitar and vocals, Kevin Hufnagel (Dysrythmia) on guitar, Colin Marston (Dysrythmia, Behold... The Arctopus, Krallice) on bass, and John Longstreth (Origin, Dim Mak) behind the kit. U.S. fans can catch the pioneering band that brought the metal world the divisive masterpiece 'Obscura' on tour in September.
