Only hours after it was revealed that drummer Shawn Drover had exited Megadeth, guitarist Chris Broderick announced he has quit the legendary metal band, too! Broderick had been with the band for 7 years.

Megadeth are now left with just frontman Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson following the back to back exits of Shawn Drover and Chris Broderick. In a statement on his official website, Broderick cited "artistic and musical differences" as the reason for his exit. His post reads as follows:

Due to artistic and musical differences, it is with great reluctance that I announce my departure from Megadeth to pursue my own musical direction. I want all of you to know how much I appreciate the amount that you the fans have accepted and respected me as a member of Megadeth for the last seven years, but it is time for me to move on. I wish Dave and everyone in Megadeth all the best. I am working on a few things of my own and hope that when they come out, you will all dig it.

Until then,
Chris. \m/

Broderick played on the band's last three albums, including 2013's 'Super Collider.' As mentioned, it was also reported hours earlier that drummer Shawn Drover had quit Megadeth, as well.

There is no word yet from Megadeth as to who will replace both Broderick and Drover in the lineup. The band has been working on a new album tentatively set for a 2015 release.
