Has animation turned GWAR's Oderus Urungus soft? That's the basis behind a new 'Funny or Die' "GWARtoon" created by animators Myke Chillian and Tommy Meehan that has just surfaced via the comedy website.

In the animated short, Oderus loses his murderous mojo during one of the band's shows, being pelted offstage after he decides to try to educate the crowd with songs designed by children. But, as it turns out, our favorite front-thing has just been infected with a disease and it's up to his bandmates to find the cure. 'The Animated Tales of GWAR' also features a guest turn from parody legend Weird Al Yankovic.

Urungus said of the project, "I hate cartoons … cartoons are for kids and kids are strictly for eating. But I just might have to back up a little and say that this is the greatest cartoon ever, even if I still hate it, just because it's about US."

In other GWAR news, the band is currently wrapping up the first leg of the "Madness at the Core of Time" tour. The group will return to the road around the holidays and then head off to the Soundwave Festival early next year. Dates can be seen below:
