Listeners have a lot of choices when it comes to the newest and best in hard rock, and I Prevail have proven to be one of the genre’s finest as they take home the Loudwire Award for Hard Rock Song of the Year, presented by Apple Music, for their single “Alone.”

The quartet of singer Brian Burkheiser, rough vocalist Richard “Eric” Vanlerberghe, lead guitarist Steve Menoian and rhythm guitarist Dylan Bowman have made their influence felt extremely quickly, forming not that far back in 2014. Their debut LP Lifelines shows a refined approach to metalcore, taking influence from some of their genre’s predecessors, but they imbue their sound with a level of infectiousness often not heard from other bands in the genre. It takes the genre into their own distinct style, and clearly makes a prominent impact with fans of all stripes.

“Alone” shows a forward-thinking approach to both the roots of metalcore and hard rock as a whole. Heavy pianos work together to pound through the song, becoming as impactful and effective as a guitar would. It gives the song a real emotional core to it, and is strong enough that it can reach a variety of listeners.

If them winning wasn’t a treat enough, I Prevail also exclusively unveiled their new live video for “Come and Get It.” The clip shows the band’s other side from “Alone,” serving up an adrenaline raising piece of heavy and catchy music while the band jumps around their wrestling ring adorned stage.

The four-piece faced stiff competition for their award, facing off against Foo Fighters, Fozzy, Nothing More, Starset and Of Mice & Men to take their prize. Congratulations to I Prevail for winning Hard Rock Song of the Year, presented by Apple Music, at the 2017 Loudwire Music Awards.
